Overview

Oversees the daily operations of hospital billing, collections, cash application and related functions within the Central Business Office (CBO). Supports the Chief Revenue Recovery Officer in the planning, coordinating, and support of the day to day operations within the office.

Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)


  1. Develops and administers new policies to effectively reduce the accounts receivable and maintain compliance with all billing/collection regulations.

  2. Provides leadership and direction to the supervisor and coordinators.

  3. Acts as a liaison with the director and monitors the performance of staff to complete assignments as required.

  4. Delegates job assignments to the appropriate service areas and monitors the performance to complete such assignments.

  5. Resolve all escalated problems arising from operations.

  6. Use as a problem identification tool to eliminate their re-occurrence.

  7. Supervises all functions that relate to processing and collection of inpatient, outpatient, physician billing accounts to effectively and efficiently manage the accounts receivable systems.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of computers.

  • Self-motivated, with ability to exercise a high level of independent actions, judgment and decision making.

  • Ability to work under stress and stressful conditions.

  • Must have proven management abilities.

  • Must be able to effectively and tactfully deal with the public, medical staff, peers, and employees.

  • Should possess analytical skills.



EDUCATION


  • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required

  • Associates Business Administration Required

  • 4 Healthcare/Medical - Business Office Required
