Overview

Patient care services include, but are not limited to: MEL Wellness program, pre-employment screening, vaccinations, follow up to communicable disease exposures, annual TB testing, annual flu vaccine program, illnesses assessments, worker's compensation program, return to work assessments, employee light duty program fitness for duty testing and treatment program and annual fit testing.

Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)

  1. Perform Pre-employment screening of new employees.
  2. Perform annual TB testing.
  3. Perform annual fit testing.
  4. Process Worker's Comp injuries.
  5. Provide follow up for communicable disease exposures.
  6. Provide guidance/direction for ill employees.
  7. Provide vaccinations as needed.

Qualifications

JOB SPECIFICATIONS(Minimum Requirements)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Systoc competency within three months of hire.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated vaccination administration skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Good interoffice and public relations skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to make independent decisions.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism, positive attitude, compassionate and professioanl patient care in the processing or worker's comp injuries, professionalism in the fitness for duty procedure, patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Must have knowledge of vaccination route, dose, actions and possible side effects.
  • Must have knowledge of Tuberculosis diagnosis, treatment and skin testing procedure.
  • Must have basic nursing skills.
  • Must be able to operate automatic blood pressure machines as well as ability to perform manual blood pressures.
  • Must have knowledge of fit testing procedure.


EDUCATION

  • Associates Nursing Required
  • Bachelors Nursing Preferred
  • One (1) to three (3) years of professional nursing work experience in occupational health preferred.
  • 5 Healthcare/Medical - Nurse: Staff Required
  • Licensed Registered Nurse
  • Certified Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation
