Overview

The Supervisor Supply Processing Distribution plans, organizes, schedules and directs the receiving, distribution and inventory purchases for a specific campus.  They operate a Periodic Automatic Replenishment system (PAR) to most clinical areas.  The Supervisor is responsible for managing and re-ordering for Surgery, MASC and SPD. The Supervisor trains department staff and evaluates their performance.

 

Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Functions)

  1. Schedules coverage 7 days a week, between 7AM and 11PM.

  2.  

    Manages receiving and distribution operations

  3.  

    Develops people by instructing, training (including cross training), correcting and monitoring performance

  4.  

    Reviews time and attendance and approves Kronos reports

  5.  

    Inspects and documents receipts, noting any exceptions

  6.  

    Delivers receipts within 4 working hours, except perishable goods that are delivered within 1 hour

  7.  

    Re-supplies mobiles in patient care areas, 7 days a week

  8.  

    Fills demand requests within 4 hours of receipt

  9.  

    Supplies Methodist’s offsite locations, clinics, MPG, imaging and sports medicine offices

  10.  

    Delights internal customers regularly through superior customer service

  11.  

    Maintains sufficient inventory to support operations, while achieving 12 turns for most items but maintaining a safety stock for PPE, a minimum 90 day supply

  12.  

    Creates, replenishes crash carts as required

  13.  

    Organizes and conducts cycle counts and the annual physical inventory

  14.  

    Maintains the security and accuracy of Stores inventory

  15.  

    Manages and replenishes the RepScrubs units

  16.  

    Plans and executes services to new hospital services

  17. Recommends budget expenses to the Director, Supply Chain

  18. Submits requests for capital equipment, with justification

  19. Operates the courier services between departments, campuses, physician practices, the Post Office and other locations

  20. Participates in Value Analysis efforts

  21. Performs other duties as needed and/or assigned

     

Qualifications

JOB SPECIFICATIONS (Minimum Requirements)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of our supply chain computer program and supply inventory methods.

  • Basic knowledge of surgical supplies and instrumentation and handling sterile, dated products.

  • Ability to work at assigned tasks on own initiative, expected to seek assistance on unfamiliar tasks.

  • Must possess skills for planning, organizing, directing and controlling.

  • Possess detailed knowledge of health care products, equipment, services, and customer requirements with preference for multi-hospital systems experience.

  • Understanding working knowledge of warehousing operations and supply chain logistics.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with diverse people.

  • Able to operate pallet trucks and fork lifts.

  • Familiar with methods to correctly handle a variety of material including frozen and refrigerated goods, radioactive products and other special handling items.

 

 

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required

EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years all facets of stores experience Required
