JOB SPECIFICATIONS(Minimum Requirements)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Participates in continuing education programs and department meetings.
- Knowledgeable of and follows operational policies and procedures related to patient care and safety.
- Demonstrates ability to navigate document competently in EPIC and Xcelera computer systems.
- Competent to perform tests utilizing equipment unique to testing such as Philips ultrasound, GE 12 lead ECG carts, etc.
- Reports to appropriate persons malfunctioning equipment and removes from service.
- Ability to assess and interpret data about patient status in order to identify patient age specific needs.
- Provides compassion, kindness and a caring approach in patient interaction.
- Works independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Demonstrates is a collaborative member of patient care team.
- Demonstrates clinical competency in patient care.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- General knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate service to all age groups served by the Cardiac EDX department.
- Successful completion of 12-lead certification classes offered at Methodist within 3 months of hire.
- Successful completion of required clinical competencies for assigned area within 6 months of hire.
- Registered and current with Cardiovascular Credentialing (RCS) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent General Studies Required
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible echocardiography work experience.
- 2 Healthcare/Medical - Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Required
