JOB SPECIFICATIONS (Minimum Requirements)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to make decisions and hancle various situations.
- Ability to remain calm in hostile situations.
- Good customer service skills with a positive attitude and showing professional courtesy.
- Ability to handle hostile situations, reasonable use of force, handcuffs, firearm, arrest procedures and carry out all laws and ordinances of Indiana State Code and policies and procedures of Methodist Hospitals.
- The dress code must be in compliance with the Police Department uniform dress code regulations.
- Maintains competence in all formats of communication good customer relations, i.e. written, oral, and body language.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required
EXPERIENCE
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
- Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the employee's state of residence, and have and maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Requires a law enforcement certification and must be an active Indiana law enforcement officer, in good standing with an Indiana Police department or law enforcement agency who is employed by the hospital and qualified to perform the duties required of an able body police officer.
- Requires 24 hour certification in various classes offered by police department.
- Must qualify with firearm.

Understands and supports the commitment of Methodist Hospitals in adhering to federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations governing ethical business practices for healthcare providers.
